RELEASE DATE: 07/01/2009

H2o Defines Hip for Galveston Island

GALVESTON, TX –The 30-acre San Luis Resort, Spa & Conference Center, one of the Gulf Coast's premiere beachfront properties, has recently opened the new H2o, a sleek and stylish ultra lounge concept inspired by the lounges that have made LA and South Beach some of the hottest tourist destinations in the country. H2o is the place for Galveston Island's social set and visitors to see and be seen.

"H2o is part of a multi-million dollar 'facelift' to The San Luis as continues to provide modern and upscale amenities," said Paul Schultz, Vice President of Hospitality for Landry's Hotel Division. "H2o is a first-of-its-kind ultra lounge in Galveston with its innovative design and offerings," Schultz added.

An ultra modern ultra lounge, H2o is decorated in vibrant and fiery hues of red, orange and yellow, with sweeping drapery and plush seating. A roaring outdoor fire pit offers the perfect place for guests to mix and mingle alongside stunning views of the Gulf. H2o will offer only the finest selection of beverages, including signature vintages by the glass and an extensive tropical martini menu. Also exclusive to H2o will be an open air sushi kitchen where Chef Kenny Sato will prepare his artful signature sushi made to order.

Upgrades to the pool area include a glamorous swim-up bar and alluring private poolside cabanas exclusive to the San Luis overnight guest that have been modernized to provide relaxation with residential allure. The cabana experience includes tableside food and beverage service with fresh fruit and bottled water. Each cabana features an island-inspired name such as Key Largo, Key West, Fiji, Bali, Antiqua and Aruba. For privacy and comfort, cabanas are complete with all-new overstuffed lounge chairs and are equipped with state-of-the-art personal flat screen TVs.
