Donation Requests

We are happy to consider donation requests for 501(c)3 organizations in good standing with the IRS. While we would like to provide a donation to all causes and organizations, we are unable to due to budget limits.

The San Luis Resort, Spa, & Conference Center does not provide donations to the following:

• Advocacy or special interest groups
• Endowments
• Faith-based organizations whose projects primarily benefit their members or advocates
• Field trips and tours
• Individuals (including scholarships and grants)
• Memberships
• Organizations or projects whose funds are used for benefit outside the greater Galveston/Houston area
• Political causes
• Professional solicitors
• School or community sports teams
• School-oriented programs
• Service clubs

Donation Procedures

Please submit your request in writing by email at least 60 days prior to the event on company or organization letterhead with a copy of your 501(c)3.

You will be notified of our decision by email within two-three weeks. If approved, you will receive a gift certificate by regular mail so please include a mailing address with your request.

Please note the following policies with regard to donation requests that are approved:

Guest Room Certificates
Complimentary gift certificates are valid for a one night stay in a standard king or double-bedded guestroom. Guest room reservations are  for Sunday-Thursday based upon availability and excluding holidays, weekends, July 1-31, and other special events at the discretion of The San Luis Resort.

Dining Certificates
Complimentary dining gift certificates are available for The Cafe and In Room Dining. Dining certificates do not include alcoholic beverages and are not available for use at The Steakhouse, holiday buffets or other special events at the discretion of The San Luis Resort.

Policies
Original gift certificate must be redeemed. Photocopies and facsimiles are not valid. Complimentary certificates are valid for 180 days from the date issued, are non-transferable, may not be extended beyond expiration date, may not be replaced if lost or stolen and may not be redeemed for cash.
